UPDATE: Lee Lepe, a public information officer for the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police Department, confirms to PEOPLE that Hendrix has been found and reunited with his owner, Teffiney Worthy.
Lepe said no further information was immediately available about possible arrests or the circumstances under which the dog was returned.
A woman is reeling after her French Bulldog puppy was stolen from her in an “armed robbery” months after her other dog died in a doggy daycare flood.
According to astatementfrom the D.C. Metropolitan Police, a man with a taser approached a woman who was entering her building after walking her 6-month-old French Bulldog and demanded she give the puppy to her.
Teffiney Worthy toldWUSA9that the suspect said, “Give me your dog, or I’ll kill you.”
“When he got out of the car and started running, I panicked and couldn’t put my pin in time to get me and Hendrix in safely,” Worthy told WUSA9.
According to the D.C. police statement, the suspect entered a “black Nissan with tinted windows and paper tags” after stealing the dog and fled the scene.
Worthy’s other dog Memphis died when a doggy daycare flooded in August, according to WUSA9.
“It seems like a double loss this year for me,” Worthywrotein a GoFundMe fundraiser where she’s seeking donations to help find the puppy named Hendrix, who she says is her “anchor.”
She has said the funds raised would go toward reward money for the puppy’s rescue.
She made a plea onsocial mediaon Monday, explaining that she was exhausted from these ordeals.
She also shared a video of the security footage from outside her home where a black car appears to pull up in front of her Washington, D.C., home. As she stands outside her door, a man runs across the sidewalk and two flights of stairs, comes up to her and appears to take over the leash from her hand.

As the man walks away with the dog, Worthy is seen following him down the steps before she sits down on a landing and appears to be crying.
The police have announced a reward of up to $10,000 to “anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction” of the suspect or suspects.
