Kevin Bacon’s love language is on full display.
The 65-year-old actor shared an adorable video on Instagram on Thursday as he revealed a sweet gesture he was leaving for his wife,Kyra Sedgwick, to discover in the fridge.
“I’m up early getting ready to go to work. I got a early call,” Bacon said as he started the selfie-style video, taken in the kitchen of the couple’s house.
Sedgwick, 58, had the “day off” so she was “still asleep,” he said, before flipping the camera to show off the gesture.
“Well you know how they say it’s the little things?” he said as he recorded a tupperware dish with food inside that was intended for his wife of 35 years. “It’s the little things.”
“Real love is making sure your partner gets in all the major food groups,” Bacon wrote in the caption of thepost, which garnered lots of love from his followers who applauded the small but meaningful gesture.
Sedgwick reposted the video on her Instagram Story, adding “💞” in a show of thanks.

Their farm life has come with some repercussions, though, asBacon has stopped eating goat and pigbecause he’s now an owner of both animals. “My wife is like, ‘We can’t get any more animals because you’re going to stop eating everything,’ ” he told PEOPLE for the Sexiest Man Alive issue.
”I love animals, they are a joy to be around, and they’re very, very calming for me,” he said of life on the property. “But we also really love to go into the garden and get fresh herbs or tomatoes or basil or peppers or zucchini.”

That’s not the end of their differences in the kitchen. “I clean up as I go along. My wife does not. I clean up as she goes along,” he admitted. “I want to sit down and know that the cleanup is not going to be longer than the dinner.”

Their kids,Travis, 34 and Sosie, 31, have picked up a thing or two as a result of their parents’ cooking habits.
“We never gave them lessons. We never sat down and said, “Okay, this is how you cook.’ But just in the course of life,they’ve ended up making great, great dishes, and they both really enjoy it,” the proud dad told PEOPLE.
“We love to cook and we love to eat. Cooking and eating together is something that we’ve always done as a family.”
