Jared Padaleckihas broken his silence after being arrested last month, speaking directly to his fans on Sunday.
The actor, 37, waschargedwith two counts of assault and one count of public intoxication on Oct. 27 at a local nightclub in Austin, Texas. Addressing the situation, Padalecki wrote to his followers on Twitter on Sunday.
“I want to sincerely thank my family and friends for all of your love and support,” hewrote. “So sad to miss the #SPNFamily at #dccon but I hope to see y’all soon.”
Padalecki was set to appear at an official convention dedicated to his long-running sci-fi seriesSupernatural, held in Washington, D.C., over the weekend. Creation Entertainment, which hosted the event,announcedthat the star would not attend, and that refunds would be offered to those who’d purchased meet-and-greets with Padalecki.
Supernatural, which premiered in 2005, is currently airing its15th and final season. Padalecki is next set to star in a televisionreboot ofWalker, Texas Ranger.
According to the affidavit, both employees said that they wanted to pursue charges against Padalecki for assault. He was then placed under arrest.

The actor’s wife, Genevieve Cortese Padalecki, has not directly addressed the arrest buttweeteda heart emoji last week, seemingly in response to supportive messages from fans. The couple shares three kids: sons Thomas Colton, 7, and Austin Shepherd, 5, and daughter Odette Elliott, 2.
On Halloween, Genevieve shared a picture of herself with the kids, dressed to trick-or-treat, tagging Jared, who did not appear in the photo.
