The rulebook for Haven ’s Troubles is being rewritten , and this calendar week ’s episode revealed the nefarious editor program . It come along that we are about to enter a game of supernatural CT and mouse , one that may reveal the ultimate mystery behind Audrey ’s identity .
So last week ’s gunfire proved a fake - out . I ca n’t say that I ’m surprised , but I ’m a small thwarted . Nathan has n’t been doing much besides sample to get himself vote down lately , and I would have liked to see him removed from the chess board , even if only for a few episode .
In fact , this episode seemed to be largely devoted to keep open its supporting cast out of the means while Audrey reconnected with William , the beau from the Barn . Most of the characters witness themselves infected by a paranoia Trouble , one that get them to bicker at the practiced and threaten to kill each other at the unsound . Duke , who has become this townsfolk ’s sole voice of saneness , is leave alone to babysit them and ends up revealing that he killed Wade . It ’s interesting to see that even Dwight , a member of the Guard , is sorry to see the Crocker Curse go , feeling that it help equilibrate out the Troubles . I wonder if there will be an chance this season for Duke to willingly recover the curse word . With all the Troubles depart awry , it seems that anything is potential .

But the breaker point of this episode is the final sequence , in which the seemingly amnesiac William divulge that he does n’t have amnesia at all , but has been toying with Audrey , hoping to shake on the loose some of her own memories . He is the person who is responsible for the mutate Troubles , using Heavy and Sinister as his lackeys . He also claims that he has a family relationship with Audrey — the original Audrey , the person who stand at the origin of Audrey ’s story .
There ’s a distinct mephistophelian feel to this William character . He seems distinctly heartless , but also a bit playful , even if his version of a secret plan is deadly . But he ’s something more than a fiend to Audrey ’s angel ; his relationship to the Troubles is seemingly active while hers is inactive . With so much of the discussion of the Troubles this season swirling around dearest and self - ritual killing , I wonder if we ’re about to learn that the Troubles are a tale of love — perhaps unrequited love . Could William be the author of the Troubles ? And could Audrey ’s forfeit of her fourth dimension and indistinguishability to protect the kinsfolk of Haven from the Troubles mean that proto - Audrey palpate somehow responsible for their world ?
