When you search for something on Google , Google know what you ’re looking for even if you ’re not say it incisively . Google hunt is smart like that . Like if you research for ‘ screaming videos ’ , Google will also show you lead for ‘ rummy videos ’ too ( words that Google equates as synonyms pop up in sheer in Google lookup effect ) . Which is why it ’s troubling that Google reckon ‘ gayest ’ and ‘ worst ’ intend the same matter .
BuzzFeedfound that when you look for for ‘ gayest tendency ’ or ‘ gayest Walt Disney pic ’ , Google will list ’ 10 worst men ’s manner trends of the decennary ’ and ‘ the eight worst picture show in Disney history ’ among its results , with ‘ bad ’ being bolded . As in gayest means worst . Newsflash ! Gayest does not intend worst .
But of course it ’s naive to guess that people do n’t expend the term ‘ gay ’ to comprise something as ‘ being sorry ’ ( even in 2013 ) . you could still hear it on vacation spot , suburban umber shops and random street across America . But just because it ’s usual does n’t intend it ’s not wrong . It ’s a problem that needs to be fixed . And what ’s most odd is to see the insensitive homophobic ‘ definition ’ of the intelligence be reflected in Google searches . You would think Google would make some effort to cancel its algorithm uninfected . Google told BuzzFeed :
