DLO claim their fresh HomeDock HD will allow iPods to hook up to HDTVs , upconverting TV end product to 1080i or 720p via an HDMI association . The unit will keep back livelihood for analogue TVs by incorporating an S - Video connection . The HomeDock HD also promises optical digital outputs that will provide “ a completely digital iPod experience . ”
The pier will send in Spring 2008 , and will retail at $ 249.99 . Unfortunately , we are not so sure the gamy definition hope stand for an awful lot . In the absence seizure of a noteworthy scaler within the unit , the HomeDock HD really does not have an nasty lot to brag about . Most high-definition television will be capable to upconvert natively , and regard the price of the unit of measurement , we doubt the scaler implement will be pack an nasty lot more heftiness than is commonplace in an high-definition television social unit . This is hardly the first time we have been in HD iPod territory ; theXDock HDand theiRIS dockboth promise the same , but we have yet to see any high definition subject come from our iPod . We shall wait in our cynical small suite . Hey , it does have an RF remote that will function from up to 100 foot away , as well as “ through walls . ” Think of the buffoonery potential difference .
