According to a newUS court ruling made in San Francisco , Google can heel its search consequence in whatever lodge it please — and it has the First Amendment behind it , too .
That’saccording to a hearingwhich saw a web site call CoastNews file away a lawsuit against Google , saying that it was knowingly lowering its ranking in search results . It argued that it appear at the top of results create by Bing and Yahoo , and was being actively demote by Google .
But Judge Ernest Goldsmithhas saidthat Google was just set about a “ constitutionally protect natural action . ” In other words , it was exercising its rightfulness to free speech .

It ’s a little but important victory for Google , which often comes under flame for the agency it present search result . Google has always argued that search results should be treated as free speech , and now they ’ve become less and less neutral , legal commendation is a Good Thing . Until this unexampled opinion , the last causa supporting Google in such a stance date stamp back to 2007 .
