These daylight scenes are unlike anything we ’ve see in the balance of Endgame ’s dawdler footage , so it ’s strong to tell when and where this all takes blank space ( although Tony is wearing this armor later on in this trailer , when he confronts Thanos ) . Given thepersistent rumorsoftime traveltaking our heroes back to Avengers ’ Battle of New York , there ’s always a possibility this is yet another allusion to that , but remark the clear-cut deficiency of Chitauri - stimulate mayhem in the sky and on the ground behind Tony , so there ’s perhaps a hazard he ’s just giving this new armor a spin ( or it ’s yet another fakeout ) .

“ We ’re the Avengers , we nonplus ta finish this ” Tony continues , as Nat and Clint share a smile . Look , masses being somewhat happy in this footage ! That ’s a oddity . Please note that Hawkeye got a sleeve tattoo of a skeleton samurai during his time as Ronin , so god , probably miss his intact family to the Thanos snap sent him full weeb .

And , at last , everything this footage has been building up to : Our Avengers , assembled . What ’s left of them , at least . Or most of what ’s leave — observe that Carol ’s not in this shot , and neither is Bruce or Thor . Are they who our Avengers are presumptively assembling towards ?

The handshake heard round the reality , as Tony and Steve piece up their Civil War beef cattle for sound — and Steve places his trust in Tony once again . Is n’t it gracious that the loss of one-half of all sentient life in existence can bring some remote Quaker back together ?

gag aside , this clearly take post in a similar view to Tony taking flight in the Mk . 85 earlier — and if the deficiency of Chitauri there was n’t enough to convert you this is n’t quite so much of a hint to those timey - wimey set pic , note that Steve is in his Age of Ultron / Civil War / Infinity War uniform , which is fairly beat up at this point .

The Benatar takes flight of stairs once more , and matter get very interesting . First , observe the team here — Carol , Rocket , Rhodey , Nat , Steve , and Thor . Second , take down the costumes . Nat ’s back in her blonde Infinity War smell , and Steve is wear his Winter Soldier stealth suit . This narrate us that the conversation they both have where Steve looks at his compass containing a picture of Peggy Carter ( Hayley Atwell ) from the initial Endgame trailer takes place during this flight of stairs , but it also throws up all sort of challenging question about when this happening , and what this team is up to .

If this is before Nat bring Hawkeye back from Tokyo , but after Tony and Nebula refund to Earth , there ’s a whole extraterrestrial sortie happening here we have no thought about . It also intriguingly re - contextualizes that shoot we just get of Tony and Steve shaking hands , given Steve ’s in his fag - out gear there and in fresh train here . But why would Tony — not Nebula , as we later see her in what used to be Star - Lord ’s seat — be staying behind ? Who can say ? Enjoy Captain Marvel captain a ship , nonetheless .

Two annulus ship dock at the Sanctuary II , as we cut to a somber - looking Nebula and Rhodey , presumably gazing up on Thanos ’ mammoth vas …

… As Thor and Rocket look horrified at something . notice the designs in the screen background — this is either one of the ring ship or the Sanctuary II ’s Interior Department itself , so presumably the team lead an attack aboard Thanos ’ ship , either to rule him or some path of stopping him aboard it . What could they find aboard that shocks these two so much though ?

A batter Steve attempts to get up as Thanos teleports into the field of honor , clad in his fight armor . But , it ’s time to freak out about costumes again , because count : Steve ’s back in his tattered Infinity War paraphernalia . Which he wears back on Earth with Tony , but not for the mission aboard the Benatar to the Sanctuary II . Either Steve Rogers packed a bare alteration of clothes at some full point or this is some wholly unlike engagement — which would make sense , given we cut to …

… Tony , on the same battlefield . This field of honor played a major role in the most recent dawdler for Endgame , and between that trailer and this barb we ’ve now get a line Ant - Man , Nebula , Cap , Iron Man , and Thor ( and potentially Rocket and War Machine , although theone shot of them togetherwas very obscured ) scrapping on it .

We still do n’t have a unmortgaged depiction of just where this fight is taking shoes , but the wreckage is pretty Earth - like ( remember , the shot of Ant - Man in this sequence hadpens and measuring tapesin the wreckage ) , add to the confusion .

Finally , we finish on a spinal column - tingling hero shoot from the same ruined battleground — three of the original Avengers , the three that really started it all those many years ago , take a obtuse , determined take the air toward Thanos , posture slumped next to the gigantic forked - bladed sword we saw in yesterday’soverload of plaything .

So there you have it — everyone ’s sad , except for Carol and Thanos , fundamentally . But while this new footage is slight on any major young revelations , what it does for us is filling in a lot of the gaps go out in our prior look at the movie , allowing us to shuffle about and re - order a pretty decent timeline of our scattered heroes coming together again . But even then , it raises even more questions than ever before . All this footage seems to come pretty ahead of time on in the film , to boot — so while the Avengers are secret plan to take the battle to Thanos once more , it ’s also light that there ’s going to be a mint more to come beyond what we ’ve seen already .
