Bjork ’s fifth album , Vespertine could come out 10 years from now and it would still go startlingly ahead of it ’s meter . Quiet , reflective and stark , the LP is perfectly complete for these winter months .
“ It ’s Not Up To You ” was maybe sorta suppose to be a proper ace on the album , but for whatever grounds , it never pass off . On an album full of abstract rendings of pop euphony , this is probably the most accessible track on the album , and befall to be my pet . It ’s dingy . Synths knife through the weightless arrangements and Bjork ’s quite contemplation . Then everything swells up into the Greek chorus , which is a moment of melancholy pop genius .
